Bring spring and order to your bedroom!

The adjective "spring" can be associated with a number of pleasant things, but it can also be associated with the word "cleaning" and that is a little less pleasant. We appreciate that it's much better to soak up the first rays of spring somewhere in the countryside than to embark on a big clean, but in the following few lines we'll try to give you some tips and, above all, point out the importance of a spring clean of your bedroom.

Your spring to-do list

  • The very first step is to wash your linen..We recommend doing this once a week, at most once every two weeks, and once you have a beautifully clean bedroom, it would be a shame not to have it freshly laundered. Unwashed bed linen is soaked with sweat, cosmetic products and full of dust. That is, a place where you decide you don't want to lay your clean and bathed body. Unwashed bed linen can be a trigger for allergies and even skin problems, so we strongly urge you to be consistent. You're doing yourself a bigger favour than you think.
  • The same goes for your mattress. It's often forgotten. Spring is the perfect opportunity to give it the proper care. It too, like the linen, is full of dirt. It accumulates hair, sweat, dead skin and other things that we may not like so much, and the mites are out of control! That's an allergic reaction just waiting to happen in the blink of an eye! A very special category of its own are pets in bed. If your dog sleeps with you in bed, we recommend cleaning the mattress even more often. How to go about it? You can call a professional company or go it alone with the help of a special wet upholstery cleaning machine.
  • Once the mattress is off the frame, we know exactly what you're looking at. . The next step in your spring cleaning is definitely vacuuming the inside of your bed.
  • It just so happens that you are removing the linen from the dryer or hanging them on the line. That frees up room for your curtains. These are often forgotten, but the real importance of washing them is when you hang them back up, freshly washed and fragrant.
  • Once everything has been washed or put in the dryer, don't wait and dust the bedroom. . Everywhere. Yes, even the pictures, the switches, and back there on the cabinet behind the plant, where you can't reach.
  • And speaking of plants... … It's good to give them a shower once in a while. Check if this is suitable for your plants, put them in the tub and play as if in the rain. For one thing, you will rid them of dust deposits so they can breathe or carry out photosynthesis more efficiently. You will wash away pests or old fertiliser and the leaves will be beautifully clean and shiny.
  • Since there's not much left in your bedroom at the moment, the plants are drying in the bathtub and you're almost done, here comes the most important point Look around the room and objectively tell yourself what extra stuff is in there. . Things under the bed that obstruct airflow, various dust catchers, clothes thrown over anything, an old exercise bike...

Maybe today is the day to remove all that stuff, what do you think? You will be doing yourself and your bedroom a great service.

    And what now?

  • If you have a mattress protector on your mattress, which, by the way, we recommended recommended in our previous article, Accidents Happen I., , give it a good wash too. Your clean mattress deserves it.

  • The last step, of course, is to put on clean linen and hang the washed curtains, , , but you probably already knew that.

And it's done. We could say "it didn't even hurt", but we won't provoke...

If you don't get around to a similarly extensive cleaning until next spring, nothing will happen, but we recommend repeating it at least again in the autumn. However, if you are allergic, for example, this should be even more frequent. Washing your linen once a week, or at most once every two weeks, is the absolute minimum, but we'll tell you more about that in our next article!
